Captivating view of Mauna Kea volcano.
The Big Island of Hawaii is made up of five volcanoes, Kohala, Mauna Kea, Hualalai, Mauna Loa, and Kilauea.
Mauna Kea means "White Mountain" in Hawaiian and is Hawaii's tallest volcano. It is considered a dormant volcano, but is likely to erupt again. At least 7 separate vents erupted between 6,000 and 4,000 years ago. For information on Mauna Kea, click here.
