Anatahan Volcano Update
Anatahan Volcano Update for December 30-January 6
Submitted Wednesday, January 7 at 1300 local Anatahan time
For the past week, Anatahan volcanic seismicity has been very low, at a
level similar to that of the past month or so. There were no apparent
eruption signals or precursory events. Tremor and seismic energy release are
very low. The network registered a series of moderate earthquakes about
500 km
east or west of the CNMI, peaking on about January 4.
