Anatahan Volcano Update

Anatahan Volcano Update for April 2-3, 2004

The seismic swarm that began beneath Anatahan Island on March 31 has intensified significantly. From the nature of the seismic signals, we now believe that small steam and/or ash emissions are occasionally occurring to altitudes less than 3,000 ft (1,000 m).
