Anatahan Volcano Update for April 4, 2004
Submitted Monday, April 5, 2004 at 1000 local Anatahan time

For the past day, Anatahan volcanic seismicity has been the highest since the eruption of May-June 2003, with events as large as M ~2.5 usually followed by tremor-like signals that we believe indicate steam and/or ash emissions. This activity peaked between 0200 and 0317 UT with events as often as every 2 minutes, then abruptly dropped to very low levels and has remained very low to the time of this report.
