Anatahan Volcano Update for April 7, 2004

For the past day Anatahan volcanic seismicity has again been a fairly
high level, though slightly less intense than it was yesterday, the most
intense day since the eruption of May-June 2003. We believe the style of
seismicity indicates steam and (or) ash emissions are occurring to low
altitudes of less than 3,000 ft (1,000 m). Contact persons:
