Anatahan Volcano Update for April 11, 2004
Submitted Monday, April 12, 2004 at 1100 local Anatahan time

For the past day Anatahan volcanic seismicity has been quite high, though not quite as high as during its peak on April 6-7, the highest level since the eruptions of May-June 2003.  We believe the nature of the seismicity indicates that steam and (or) ash emissions may be occurring to altitudes of less than 3,000 ft (1,000 m).
