Anatahan Volcano Update for April 18, 2004
Submitted Monday, April 19, 2004 at 1023 local Anatahan time

During the past day, the seismicity has been relatively high but down from the peak of the day before. Extrusion of a lava dome may be continuing, but any steam and ash emissions are not likely to exceed 3,000 ft (1,000 m). Eruptions to higher altitudes could occur, however, with little or no warning.
