Anatahan Volcano Update for April 19, 2004
Submitted Tuesday, April 20, 2004 at 1037 local Anatahan time

Seismicity during the past day was relatively high but steady, unchanged from the day before. The seismicity suggests continuing quiet, effusive eruption of a relatively small volume of new lava onto the crater floor. Any steam and ash emissions associated with today's activity are not likely to exceed 3,000 ft (1,000 m). Eruptions to higher altitudes could, however, occur with little or no warning.
