Anatahan Volcano UpdateAnatahan Volcano Update for April 22, 2004 Seismicity during the past day was relatively high but steady, unchanged from the 4 days before. The seismicity suggests continuing quiet, effusive eruption of a relatively small volume of new lava onto the crater floor. Any steam and ash emissions associated with today's activity are not likely to exceed 3,000 ft (1,000 m). Eruptions to higher altitudes, however, could occur with little or no warning.
