Anatahan Volcano UpdateAnatahan Volcano Update for April 26, 2004 Anatahan seismic activity increased abruptly at 0052 4/24 UTC
(1052 4/24 CNMI) to a high level unseen since summer 2003, marking a
significant increase in Anatahan's eruptive activity from quiet effusion
of small amounts of lava to a more energetic eruption. The eruptive
activity now appears to be as energetic as some of the eruptions of
mid-June 2003. Seismic activity
continues to increase slowly at the time of this report.
