Anatahan Volcano Update for April 26, 2004

Anatahan seismic activity increased abruptly at 0052 4/24 UTC (1052
4/24 CNMI) to a high level unseen since summer 2003. Since then, the seismicity has increased
slowly but fairly constantly to a level similar to that of the eruption
of mid-June 2003. Over the past 5 hours,
the seismic activity seems to have stayed at this high level.
The next seismic update will be at 05:00 4/26 UT (1500 4/27 CNMI).
