TOP: Three days after the 1975 earthquake, the submerged coconut grove and the high strand line of the accompanying tsunami (grass-free area in next to red backpack) were clearly visible.

BOTTOM: Only a few trunks of palms from the coconut grove were standing about a decade after the 1975 earthquake.
