caldera rim

Top: View is from the innermost southwest caldera rim toward the northeast. Bottom: View is to left of top image. The Keanakako`i Ash Member lies atop lava flows exposed in the caldera wall; the ash unit is about 3 m thick.

This innermost caldera rim is located a few hundred meters east of smaller caldera-bounding faults ( see geology map of caldera).
