January-May 2009 Waikupanaha ocean entry active pāhoehoe lobe, Pu`u `Ō `ō fuming line, lava falls, new Kupapa`u delta , vigorous breakouts, and Halema`uma`u lava lake cycles.
June-October 2009 Views into Halema`uma`u, small breakouts and large plumes at Kupupa`u and Waikupanaha ocean entries, draining at Halema`uma`u, then widening, activity at Royal Gardens, spattering deep within, and a narrow finger invades a thickly vegetated kipuka.
